Jim Gawthrop, Mechanical and Plumbing Project Manager smiles as he watches the Natural Fusion home pull away. The home is completely packaged in white wrap pulled by a maroon truck on a cloudy day.
We popped 33 Tires in 330 miles on the way to Washington DC. Therefore, this image is to represent that with a pile of tires ready to used, stored in the back of the trailer.
Team members patiently wait on the National Mall for their house, with all the proper protection equipment. From the left to the right is a female with a red hard hat, to three males standing in height order with white hard hats.
Moving DuroDeck around in order to get in underneath the moving vehicle. We must protect the National Mall from any vehicles, so this big slab of white, hard plastic goes underneath. Because of their size each person just drags their own sheet. Three people are dragging sheets.
The home is backing up onto our site. The Washington Monument is in the background. The house is wrapped in white on a red Professional Building Systems trailer.
Jim, Kyle, and Val all stop and stare at the house being backed up. The event is terribly exciting and each person has a smile on their face. The person on the left, Jim, is also scratching his head.
Our house turning radius is huge, therefore we must drag more DuroDeck. Val, in the red hard hat, drags more to help get it laid down for the tracker trailer to drive on.
With the Washington Monument in the background, a professional set crew is signaling to the truck driver the position of the house on that National Mall. Team Leader, Kyle Macht, assists.
To set our house, we must put lots of wood underneath to support it off the ground and make it level. Our wood, called cribbing, is super huge and looks like literally tree trunks. Three people are trying to move one, while under the house.
The southern facade of the Natural Fusion home still wrapped but all set up. The foreground, is the Natural Fusion sign that is posted on two large cribbing logs that were moved out to the street.
The southern facade of the Natural Fusion home revealed, at night. There is some white cover up and around the roof. The Natural Fusion sign is in front with now the meadow gardens behind it.

The Capitol Building is depicted in the center of the photograph at the end of the flooring on the National Mall in Washington, D.C. Solar-powered homes are being constructed on either side of the flooring. Huge cranes to help with construction are on either side of the flooring that leads to the Capitol Building. Narrow perspective with an overcast sky.
The Solar Decathlon sign, high in the sky with blue and orange colors, is in the background center of the photograph with cranes on either side of it to prepare the solar-powered homes to be assembled for the competition. Homes are on either side of the sign in the foreground of the photo. The National Monument is behind the Solar Decathlon sign in the distance.
Two Penn State decathletes are on the roof with the solar panels giving two thumbs up in their neon yellow construction vests and white construction hard hats. This is a tight photograph of the two of them smiling.

His hand holds onto one of the planter boxes that need to be assembled for the competition as he looks out over tall the materials, figuring out where everything goes.
Two decathletes are holding on to two planterboxes on the side of the Natural Fusion home. Both male, they are dressed in construction gear with another solar-powered home behind them that is also being assembled. Three Penn State decathletes are all holding onto part of the decking that goes around our home. A planter box is in the foreground that is vertically positioned, as to hide some of the decathletes depicted in the photograph.
A panel of cylindrical photovoltaics is leaning against the side of the South facade of the home, on the roof where the windows are placed. The siding is depicted as well as the pump from the solar hot water system extending above part of the roof. The top of a green leafed tree can be seen behind the photovoltaics.
Two Penn State decathletes are seen walking around the Natural Fusion home in construction gear. The whole house is depicted with the Natural Fusion sign in the foreground of the photograph. The cylindrical photovoltaics are stacked on top of the roof ready for assembly. One rack of the photovoltaics are leaning against the side of the roof on the south side of the home. The tops of trees border the roof and sides of our home behind the house. This photograph depicts the start of day three on the National Mall.

All wear green and white construction hats and some are dressed in the Natural Fusion grey shirts.
This photograph is taken from inside the home with a section of the folding south doors open, revealing the National Monument high in the sky with a few other solar-powered homes getting assembled. The assembling of these homes are reflected in these glass doors.
