The goals of every mechanical system are to provide a comfortable temperature for the occupants while providing ventilation to maintain a good indoor air quality. The Natural Fusion system aims to produce these results through simple, efficient methods.

HEATING & COOLING
The main heating and cooling will be provided through two super-efficient heat pumps.

THERMAL MASS
Bags have been installed in the floor which can be filled with water once the house gets to its final site to provide Thermal Mass. These “water bags” will absorb heat from the sun during the day and release it at night.

To further increase the thermal mass of the house we have installed Phase Change Material in the walls. This material absorbs energy by changing from a solid to a liquid and releases it by changing from a liquid to a solid.

ENERGY RECOVERY VENTILATOR (ERV)
For fresh air we have provided an Energy Recovery Ventilator (ERV). This ERV exchanges both heat and humidity between incoming fresh air and outgoing exhaust air to provide fresh air to the occupants.

Through inherently simple systems, the Natural Fusion home provides a comfortable and clean environment for the occupants.
